Butterfly kits are delivered or shipped directly to you. The caterpillars are about 1 week old when they arrive.
They grow so rapidly over the next week or two that the children will see the difference from one day to the next, and may even witness the moment a caterpillar becomes a chrysalis.
At that stage it is necessary to move the chrysalides to a netted cage, ready for emerging as a butterfly.
Instructions for making a simple cage can be downloaded from our website, or a cage can be purchased from us. From caterpillar to butterfly takes about 3 weeks.

"I was given your e-mail from one of my co-workers. She has purchased her class butterflies from you for a couple of years and says they are the best!"

"Just a note to tell you how incredible an experience it was to raise caterpillars.
Each day, the kids were bursting in the door, excited to see how our 'friends' were doing. We watched the first butterfly who hatched closely and watched
him try to fly for the first time. ALL the students were clapping and cheering!
Our release went really well, the kids waved each butterfly off and many were able to hold one (with teacher help).
You've earned a few career-long customers. Michelle, Surrey

"Just wanted to thank you so much for our fabulous butterfly unit. Your instructions were perfect and we had great success. The weather was so warm we set our butterflies free 21 days after we got them! We were 24 for 24."

"The kids loved learning about butterflies and having real ones in the room made the learning so much more meaningful. Thank you so much for providing us with the opportunity and for all your help. I hope to do this again next year!"
